The Relationship Between an Artist and a Fan
Amanda Palmer, an artist, talks about her experience going from a street performer to a staged artist. She receives crowd funding to present her music online for free.
Palmer’s job was standing on the street dressed up as an eight-foot bride who had to thank street walkers for giving her attention. In return, she also wanted to give thanks to her fans, and has dedicated her songs to the crowd ever since.
Twitter became a great way for Palmer to meet with her fans, crossing the boundary between a stranger and an artist.
