How Horror Films Choose Their Music
Justin Zagri, an independent film maker and a freelance editor in L.A explains how film makers of horror movies choose their music to scare.
You want to convey the moods with music before the scare and after. Usually the music played before the big moment is quieter and more ambient, while the music picks up during the scare.
Justin shows a short clip from his movie called Holiday, and he explains the difference between taking the scene with and without music. The short clip he shows is a take on reality, and a typical of story of what it’s like when a person breaks in.
