Why Failure Isn’t Really Failure
Emma Reynolds, previously named to the UK’s “Top 35 Women Under 35” list, expresses her views on why our twenties are the time to fail fast and often, but to fail forward. Young society is under so much pressure to perform; we’re constantly told that failure is a bad thing…isn’t it? Reynolds argues that the feeling of failure can be so powerful that we acquire knowledge, strength, and determination to never feel such a way again. Failure leads to learning which leads to growing which ends in success.
Reynolds’ “Miss Frizzle” attitude of make mistakes and get messy, includes her manifesto of how to “not suck at life” with points such as moving out of your comfort zone, making choices not mistakes, and learning how to give and receive feedback.
