A History of the Business School

Business schools were not a particularly glamorous academic choice when they were first developed, for the most part in the late 19th and early 20th century.  Most were attempts to provide some formal education in accounting and commerce practices, for students who wished to find management careers in the industrial economy of the time.  The first graduate program was introduced in 1900, but it would be another fifteen years before another one came along.  Here’s a look at the history of the business school: (click to enlarge)
