Putin: Who gave NATO right to kill Gaddafi?

In a speech given in Denmark, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin put the entire room on its toes when he began asking tough questions that in all seriousness – and if any respect for journalistic integrity were exercised – should have been asked by all journalists covering the story from the outset of this conflict.

“The Coalition said destroying Gaddafi was not their goal…then why bomb [him]?”  This is one of the many poignant questions Mr Putin asks…”Who gives that right?…Who gave him a fair trial?”, he continues.  But these are not the only interesting things he says, that’s for sure.

The Prime Minister is bringing to the forefront issues that many circles around the world have been talking about from practically the beginning of the problem sometime in May, but which have not received due attention in Western News Outlets: a real interest in the country’s oil, not its liberation; a real (and disguised) interest in establishing a government with Western Interests at its core; invasion plans being carried out.

But perhaps most revealing of all is the fact that the video puts forward the possibility (which to many feels more like a reality) that the Media in the West and in the European Union are covering only certain aspects of the conflict and ignoring others, such as the fact that there have been boots on the ground actively seeking Gaddafi like goddamn homing missiles.  Just as interesting is the “double standard” that Mr Putin argues the Western Powers have shown towards the region, as they have decided to actively ‘help’ Libyans in their struggle but are only verbally ‘condemning’ the civil wars in other parts, namely Syria.

And apparently the EU has a new plan – “EU for Libya” -, supported by all 27 member states, to provide up to 1,000 soldiers on the ground “under the guise of Humanitarian Aid”.  The troops, said Michael Mann, Chief Spokesman of the European Union, would only attack if attacked.

The video is definitely controversial and interesting.  Sure to get a lot of reaction.  So don’t be shy…share your thoughts!
