Is Google a monopoly?

Google is everywhere on the net. Launched only this decade, it has grown into something so huge that the whole of the internet is under its eye. Every website (including this one) works hard to work within Google’s rules. The more they do, the more Google benefits them with more visibility; when they don’t, they’re website gets hidden away into the depths of the internet, never to be found by interested eyes.

But with all this power, is it right to call Google a monopoly? Does it have an unfair advantage over other companies on the web? Does the government need to step in?
